I do recall reading that the statins do well at reducing cholesterol and such, but...
the data on avoiding cardio-events and longer lifespan is...less impressive. I don't know what that's about, but...
the Pauling fans often take their supplements and do whatever else is necessary (conventional treatments). I vaguely recall reading that niacin therapy interacts poorly with some cholesterol meds (probably statins? maybe not all of them?), so...there's that.
some people say to take coenzyme q10 with statins. others say the data would not indicate any benefits. and then...coq10 supplements sort of bother me, because the dosage varies wildly, there are the 2 different forms, different delivery systems, and...yeah. yeah. -tricksy-
