I have been using the ketamine nasal spray every three days for the last two weeks. Initially this med had a profound lifting effect on my depression that has not been matched with subsequent doses. I have had some hefty depressive thoughts in the past two weeks, and have been journaling to record them.
The med was recommended to be administered at night. I feel the full effects of the spray within the first 12 or so hours, so I elected to take it in the morning so I can maximize the benefits. It does immediately calm my mind down and helps to reduce my amorphous anxiety, which never goes away.
So far I would say the effect on me is more subtle than I expected it to be. I am not experiencing any depersonalization. The main effect seems to be muscle fatigue, but this condition is improving with further use.
My depression is deeply entrenched. I cry every day - not at my situation in particular, but I have an overly emotional reaction to anything the least bit upsetting. I have found movies and the news can be deeply distressing. Consequently I keep myself isolated with little external stimuli to set me off. Im going to pursue further treatment for my anxiety which seems prevalent lately.
As far as the ingestion of the spray, its five sprays per dose, alternating between nostrils. Not long afterwards there is an unpleasant taste at the back of my throat/mouth where the med is trickling down. It helps to have a big glass of water nearby.
