I took risperidone as an add on for depression for a little over 2 years. It helped me feel motivated and happy. I was and am still on Cymbalta, Klonipin and Lamictal for presumed bipolar II. It seemed to stop working after a period of trying to come off Klonipin and having to try over active active bladder drugs which affected my liver.I am trying risperidone again to try to feel motivated and happy again. I feel tired and unmotivated again. I sleep better on R. though. I am also trying to reduce Klonipin again to stop the tired feeling and hope to feel happy again. The Cymbalta helped the dysphoria.I'm trying to decide with my doctor whether to continue on the risperidone and wean off the Klonipin again to see if the risperdone will work again OR to stop the risperidone again. It seemed when I first restarted it I did feel motivated and happy after about a week. It lasted about 2 and 1/2 weeks then these good feelings went away. I'm wondering if the Klonipin has accumulated in my system so much that it is masking the good effects of the risperidone. I am aware of placebo effects and that could be a possibility. Or is it possible that I metabolized the drug in a strange way because of my history of liver sensitivity? The SSRI's don't seem to work with motivation or positive 'feelings' and pleasure. I have only 'felt happy' on Elavil, Parnate and Ludiomil. I am connecting this with the dopamine action. Can't take Wellbutrin.
Any hope that the risperodone can work for me again? I have tried soooooooooooo many drugs. Thx.
