anxiety and depression linked together because of serotonin, without stable serotonin you will have fluctuations in the brain, .some people require benzo's, xanax, ativan to calm anxiety......
but really if you look at it, the main 2 things that treat depression with is serotonin and norepinephrine, they both play a role in mood, although NE can increase anxiety if serotonin is not stable

GABA always plays a role in sedation, but still even with xanax, anxiety can still be there, that's why things like Nardil, and strong serogentic antidepressants are good for anxiety
