I take Vyvanse and Brintellix. There is no increased risk for serotonin syndrome between these two drugs. Serotonin syndrome most often occurs when two drugs that affect the body's level of serotonin are taken together at the same time. The drugs cause too much serotonin to be released or to remain in the brain area.

Vyvanse blocks the reuptake of norepinephrine and dopamine into the presynaptic neuron and increase the release of these monoamines into the extraneuronal space. It does not increase levels of serotonin and therefore is not a risk for serotonin syndrome.
