In reply to cymbalta discontinuation, posted by joe f on July 5, 2015, at 7:03:37
All of the meds are difficult to withdraw from for most people, but not all, and cymbalta is one of the worst for most people. It can be as nasty as getting off of an opiate painkiller addiction. My withdrawal from it was anticipated and expected, but far more intense than I had figured, and I was only on it 2 weeks!
Here is how to withdraw from Cymbalta:
Open up the capsule and take a few "beads" out of it. The beads have a time release coating on them, with cymbalta inside each bead. 1mg is approximately 9-10 beads. With that in mind, one can remove 1mg on a daily basis, weekly basis, whatever, and withdraw slowly in tiny steps to avoid most of the withdrawal.
Withdrawal symptoms begin within 24 hours and can be severe enough to end up in the emergency room.
