I'd go for the Xanax, it has been proved time and a gain to work in blinded controlled trials - the other stuff you mention has only anacdotal evidence to support it, and multiple anacdotes do not equal evidence.

If you get generic alprazolam and go to a costco or walmart type pharmacy, a months supply should be well under twenty bucks.
