can't you send out emails to different university clinics asking whether they would *theoretically* prescribe MAOIs? if you join your med history, I'm sure you'll stumble upon someone who'll see the legitimate need for it..
isn't there this danish antidepressant study group or what it's called? I am sure those scientists know what's going on outside their country in terms of prescribing, and maybe they could refer you to someone who practices more "aggressive" prescribing?it's a shame how psychiatrists think over here in europe. sometimes I feel like, in the US, the question is "what CAN we prescribe patients in order to help them?", whereas here it is "what CAN'T we prescribe patients, even if it helped them? then let's choose one of the drugs that remain." ... like the senior psychiatrist at my local university clinic, telling me MAOIs were no longer being used "since 20 years ago"..
