Remember you don't have to take a dose so high that your lithium levels are at what is thought to be clinically therapeutic. 300 mg or 600 mg split in 2 divided doses a day may be enough for you to notice significant improvement. Just don't let whoever is prescribing have you believe that you need your lithium levels to be in the "therapeutic" range.
