Depakote for Ambien w/d

I've been using 10mg Ambien for about 6 months now, but have depression as a sid effect. I've tried to w/d little by little, but I'm having horrible insomnia and anxiety. Someone told me that using a mood stabilzer, especially Depakote is a good way to go. Does anyone have experience with this or any other kind of suggestion?
