You should make any dose changes in consultation with your doctor. If you felt good at 2 mg, tell her/him that. If you weren't getting enough benefit at 2 mg, then maybe 4 mg will ultimately be better. Sometimes you need to wait out a dose for a little while to see if side effects like anxiety settle down. But I'd say keep notes on how you're doing and keep the communication with your doctor open.
It sometimes amazes me how much therapeutic doses can differ among people, sometimes by an order of magnitude. Some people need 10 mg Abilify or more. Some do great on 2. The right dose is the one that works.
