Fuzzy thinking from meds?

Posted by tonyz on February 20, 2010, at 15:25:52

I'm taking the following meds:
100mg Seroquel
50mg Nortriptyline
0.75- 1 mg Clonazepam
1500mg L-tryptophan

I've been having bad insomnia but it is getting much better, but my thinking is very slowed and fuzzy. Normally I would take around 125mg of Nortriptyline to alleviate the depression along with other meds.

Doc has been lowering the Notriptyline because he thought it might be activating.

With the combo I described I seem to be doing better with sleep but I am not thinking clearly. What is the likely culprit?

I have had many incidents of major depression. At first the diagnosis was just recurrent depression now they are thinking bipolar 2 and suspect I may be in the hypomanic and depressed phase at the same time.

But if that is the case seems there should be an antidepressant in the mix and the 50mg of Nortriptyline isn't going to do anything.

I'm just looking for some ideas to bounce off my doctor.

One PA I was seeing thought the fuzziness was more likely due to the clonazepam.
