This is a very succinct way to put what I have noticed myself. In order for meds to work you almost have to 'keep it fresh'. More of a medication, sometimes less. Adding another medication or taking a medication away. Adding in a little exercise, caffiene or stimulant, sleep deprivation, fasting, supplements.

I dunno, I just think that if you stay at the same dose of the same meds for long enough your brain adapts. By changing something the brain has time to bounce back the other way and perhaps restore a theraptutic response.

I think to, just the mental idea of "changing something" triggers a chemcial shift. The idea of novelty or just the feeling that something will be different.
