Hey,
Sorry to hear that you are not doing so well and are suffering from joint pain. Not sure I understand your question fully...
You are not keen on raising the dose of Sertraline above 150mg, right? In fact it maybe the cause of your joint pain.
Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if this dose was causing swings- higish doses of SSRI's can cause swings for some.(40mg Paxil for me).
Plus response to SSRI's are not dose-dependent. Response plateaus out after a certain dose. so really raising the dose of the Sertaline may not be such a great idea (as u yourself feel) because it does not necessarily mean you will get a better response- just more side effects. As for escitalopram,I didn't gain weight on it at all. I was on it for a year. But I can't compare it with Sertraline as I have never taken it. But I gain weight on most drugs eg: Paxil (what a joke!)and effexor (!!).
Also I found it to be a great drug for anxiety and taken at night it is not sedating at all (i don't know if people get sedated on it, anyway??) It had no adverse reactions for me- I only got off it to go on Parnate. The bit I didn't understand was about 'AGO'. Whats that? I looked it up and couldn't find anything. Sorry cannot comment on that.:(
Hope you find some answers and can come to a decision that helps you,
Take care
D
