> I'm currently taking 300mgs of seroquel and 10mgs of prozac. The combination doesn't seem to be getting it and I'm thinking of asking my doctor to switch to zyprexa. Can I go from 300mgs of seroquel to say 5mgs of zyprexa without any difficulty? Anyone who has experienced something like this can you input? Thanks

Well I'm biased because I may still have difficulties stemming from going to Zyprexa... but... I'm extremely sensitive to APs...

So yes, you could go if you wanted... some doctors prefer cross-tapers, others prefer going down to some low point on the previous medication before starting another AP.

Its very hard to judge AP-AP efficacy (amount)... Seroquel has a very wide range of use.

So yes, going slow on the Zyprexa would be the best idea (and monitoring side effects) and I would agree with the 5mg idea. In some people it could be as little as a 100mg equivalent of Seroquel, others several hundred, so who knows ?
