Hello my doc current just added a mall dose of deprenyl(2.5mg) to my medciation regime. He had told me the contradictions only happen when you go above 10mg and he dosen't want me going over 5mg. He did this because I have treatment resistant depression and I still have suffering. He thinks I have more of a dopamine problem than seratonin. He also, because of the deprenyl, lowered my celexa dose from 40mg to 20mg.
He changed my dosing schedule to a day on, day off regimen. On monday I am to take celexa and wellbutrin 150mg, then tuesday celexa and 2.5 mg selegiline and currently keep doing that until frida. He wants me however, to not take the selegiline on the weekends because he's afraid of a cumulative "spillover" effect.
I am curious as to what others think of this combo. My mind seems alot more clearer since the selegiline was added. Do you think 2.5mg is enough tho? I haven't had any side effects except the occasional myoclonic jerk here and there from the wellbutrin. My doc said he dosen't normally give this combo to much people, but I am considered a suicide risk so he thinks the benifits outweigh the sides I may get. I'm still scared of the interactions though on the selegiline paper list, but my doc had said it isn't updated. The side effects paper still makes me scared and I constantly worry that Im gonna end up in the ER and then I get a panic attack. I sometimes dialike the wellbutrin cause of the edgy sides, but maybe since Im taking every other day te sides will lessen. Can anyone give me opinion on this unorthodox combo?
