I have taken 1800 mg a day for about 8 years. It is very helpful for muscles spasm/aches, general calm & ahem, "regularity". I can't live without Mg. I have a certain "natural" brand of Calcium & MG that work really well for me...Rainbow Light. I have no idea what "magnesium wasting" is but I will look into that.

Have you gotten any labs done since starting to see if anything is out of whack? Or maybe your thyroid needs checking. I know you are looking for a doc but I am not from your area.

I also am wondering if anything dietary could be effecting you. I am can only speak from my experience but certain food additives really effect me negatively. It took years of paying attention to figure this out. For me aspartame is poison.

Do you take any other meds? I know that Mg & also calcium can interact with any amphetamine, ie Adderal. I take both but separately and not slow release Mg. You can google "medchecker" to find out if there is any interactions to your meds.

good luck,
surfergirl
