> Getting a Maoi doc is not easy for everyone,im lucky mines lets me stay on mine,HOWEVER what id recomend is 2 things for people who just cant seem to find a doc,...first make sure you arent being denied one for reasons you know are valid,if your general health prevents it then no point there, aside from that,

>Hey again,
Thats right, seems a lot of people are having trouble finding an experienced MAOI Doc.
As for #1. I wouldn't even go down there. I called mine and asked: Does this DR.regularly prescribe MAOI's. Yes.
Does he regularly prescribe high doses when its called for? yes.
Does he regularly augment with other meds such as, Ritalin, Desipramine, etc. yes.
Available consultation? yes. DONE DEAL
Skip Shaslings last paragraph, he/she knows not what they say....
I personally would like to see people learn from our "forced" mistakes due to not knowing we had a choice, and immediately go get that experienced MAOI PDoc asap. Tip: If you are already on an MAOI, they will likely keep you on it. If not, you may have to trial a couple other meds. Or just say you are done with trials. If you can show a history of many meds, that will likely be enough. So go ahead and let your current PDoc get you started on an Maoi if you can, while you do your search for an experienced MAOI Doc.
