Ativan and racing thoughts

Both today and yesterday I had to take Ativan for a panic attack with racing thoughts/concurrent bipolar symptoms.

It makes me feel really weird, but stops the racing thoughts. It also makes me feel like I took Benadryl or something. I get that dizziness feeling in my chest, and fuzziness in my head shortly after taking it, and feel jittery and edgy. Never reacted to Ativan like this ever before.

Is it bad to take Ativan with bipolar symptoms? I had never had this go along with a panic attack, and I was afraid. Do you think the Ativan could be agitating the bipolar symptoms, considering I never had these before?
