I could well be wrong - and I apologise if I am - but I would have thought Pristiq is as effective as Effexor, with lower doses of Pristiq doing the same job as higher doses of Effexor.

Effexor is venlafaxine and Pristiq is the metabolite of venlafaxine (desvenlafaxine) (as escitalopram is to citalopram). I'm not a pharmacologist, but surely this is the case..?
