I can't believe your pdoc dismissed this option!
Li has been one of the most widely studied augmentation strategies. It is known to be particularly good for reducing suicidal thoughts.I added it to an SSRI (Lexapro) and found it helpful (although it did not help as much as I needed it to). A lot of people are afraid of Li, but really it is a good drug.
