In reply to Campral For A Person With Alcholism and Suicidal t, posted by Phillipa on July 27, 2008, at 13:33:57
Hi Phillipa,
I dont know much about Campral, but I do know that AA has helped keep me away from Alcohol.
Most alcoholics relapse is they dont get some kind of treatment. If the Campral helps, thats great but going to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting so that your relitive can find out the hows and why's of this disease. It will evenutally land an alcoholic out of work, in jail, with a DWI, or eventually sickness and death.
It kills thousands of people each year and I am not even talking about drunk drivers either.
Its a poison to a person who has no control over thier drinking and will damage the human body and brain over time if misused, like an alcoholic does with it.
You can find a meeting or meetings at the AA site: http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/?Media=PlayFlash.
There should also be local number in the phone book that you can call 24/7. If the person needs it, an AA member will even meet them there and guide them through the meeting.
> Sorry but I seriously need info on campral or a similar med for a relative who is now in the hospital was suicidal and is an alcholic will campral help? It's new since I nursed so no knowledge of it . Thank-you Phillipa
