Tianeptine is actually not a very good a.d. If it was as good as it's predecessor amineptine( Survector) it would have been axed already years ago. Over the long term, there are some not well documented side effects of this drug., which can be very annoying, one of them being facial twitches, mild tics, neck stiffness of the dystonic type. They can take weeks/months to fully clear, and flare up even worse when combined with other AD's and anti-pyschotics.However, this is a drug that can be taken "as needed", one of the uses I find, is it can enhance tactile and orgasmic quality during a sexual encounter. The effect quickly wears off after a few days of consecutive use, so there again it speaks against using it long term. However this being a board for folks with real pyschological issues, I'd certainly not advocate that anyone should stop treatment if they perceive a real and sustained benefit from using it.
