In reply to what does abilify do???, posted by Robyn222 on March 29, 2008, at 0:59:10
Hi Robyn222,
I've heard of abilify being used in special cases of depression since abilify is known to have antidepressant properties in it. abilify is mainly used in treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar I disorders though. I figure ur on a small dose since its for depression ur being treated for or i could b wrong. Higher doses of an antipsychotic does produce more side effects such as akathasia. tardive dyskinesia was worse w/ the typical AP's the old stuff and seems less w/ atypicals but since atypicals are newer long term results have yet to be produced and have yet to be found out w/ even the newer AP's.
perhaps since u seem to b on a low dose of abilify, ur probably quite safe but ask ur pdoc to see what he/she sez.
take care!
