Hi your#1fan,
RE forgetting the smartphone, this is what I had to say about that in my first post:***************
As far as forgetting the phone goes, I pretty much beat that by buying a really good belt-clip/pocket case for it. Once I got used to carrying it that way all the time, it became as hard to forget as wearing the belt!
***************I noticed also that you said something about forgetting the phone AND the smartphone. No problemo there either, because once you get the smartphone you can dispense with your current cell phone. You won't need it because you'll have the phone built into the smartphone.
This is why I suggested that getting a good cell carrier should be done first. Since you already have one, the way to do this would be to upgrade your phone with the same service.
In my case I have Sprint. I had a little handheld. I wanted the smartphone, so I simply had the current phone upgraded. I kept the same account with Sprint, same monthly charge, phone number, everything.
I did this by throwing myself at the mercy of the local Sprint agent, which happens to be Radioshack. They had set me up with the first phone. I walked into the store, told them what I wanted to do and asked for the options. When I finally got around to selecting the model I wanted, they set it up for me and activated it with my Sprint account.
The monthly service charge didn't change. Eventually I sprung for another $15 per month for unlimited internet connectivity, but that's a matter of choice. If you don't need that with a smartphone you can go on paying what you pay now each month. You'll only be out for the one-time cost of the smartphone itself.
More musings from a frantic mind... Anyway that's how I did it, and that's why I never forget the phone !!!
Happy Holidays,
Reggie BoStar
