I took Wellbutrin for a couple of years, and may go back to it if the EMSAM doesn't work out. For me, it's been the most trouble free AD ever -- and I was taking a high dose. No seizures. No weight gain. No GI trouble. No foggy-head.
Some people find it activating, and it can feel a bit like increased anxiety for some. I didn't have a problem with that, but then -- in my case, despite co-morbid anxiety dx, I took it with a stimulant, and the combination didn't increase anxiety for me.
It's probably worth trying, if you're looking for an antidepressant. One of its benefits is that it often starts kicking in sooner than other ADs do -- less lag time between starting and finding out if it works.
Good luck. I hope that helps.
