can you already tolerate clozapine?
i can barely tolerate risperidone, which i am on now. thinking of asking to switch to invega, if its in canada (maybe not,) in case that may remove some side effects (but maybe likely not, i don't think much is known?) but i even worry APs are really not at all the drugs for me. even for my doctor's theory, i wonder amisulpride would be more suited and worth asking our government's processes to try.
relevant to the topic tho, i have wondered recently, for clear psychosis and for psychosis prophylaxis, if amisulpride would allow a lower clozapine dosage in people, and have a better balanace of activity (hopefully cutting side effects, and actually having functionning management of negative or negative-like symptoms.)
i almost wonder if clozapine goes too high in dose, just to have its D2 try to catch up with its D4 affinity. i wonder if the D4 benefits of the drug are already had at lower dosages, and if something more totally D2 selective can be added (like amisulpride) instead of upping the clozapine, to pinpoint the need of more there (at D2), and not add more of the infamous side effects clozapine is known for.
that's why i wonder what clozapine+amisulpride may be as useful for AP activity, if we knew the right dosages, or mayve if it might be easy to dose the two in combination properly. i think it's even already been mentionned somewhere that amisulpride may function as an antidote to clozapine salivation issues.
anyway, hope everything works out.
