I think I heard once that ER docs aren't quite as competent, but I don't remember why.
I know when I saw a neurologist in the ER, he mentioned that my phosphorus & potassium levels were low but didn't know what that meant. It was later when my psychiatrist & outpatient neurologist saw the lab results that they thought that could have been a factor. So I wasn't too impressed.
