Gosh Jay; some places won't allow the psychotropic meds to be present??? Odd. I had two different sleep studies done at the Univeristy of Chicago (sleep study lab) and was in a room by myself so any meds I had with me were fine. So, yes do the sleep study. The saving grace for me was they let me keep the TV on (after hours) as I convinced them I would fall asleep with the TV on. Nothing like a boring TV show to put me to sleep--standing up, sitting down, or lying down. I gained a lot of weight too, but it seems that sleep apnea also results in weight gain due to the lack of oxygen leading to feeling tired and leading to eating junk food with lots of carbs. So maybe if you did not have sleep apnea, you would not have gained so much weight on the med's. Who knows. Go for the sleep study.
