Effexor XR and honeymoon

I just started taking Effexor XR three nights ago. I'm on the 37.5 for a week, then I'm to try 70. I've had a mild headache, trouble concentrating and not sleeping very well. But then again I've had a headache for weeks from crying, couldn't concentrate because I was so depressed and anxious, and didn't sleep well anyway. So I've no complaints about any side effects - yet. My question is this: has anyone else had a miraculous "honeymoon" on this stuff? Everything says that you should wait at least three weeks before you notice any real change, but yesterday and today have been really decent. I didn't cry. I joked with a co-worker. I laughed, really laughed. It can't be the drug, can it? I was so frightened to go to my doctor. I just knew he was going to say I was a mess and there was no hope for me. But he didn't. He looked me right in the eye and promised me that we could help this. I was so relieved. I went from crying with the fear and depression and pain to crying with relief. Is it the relief that has me feeling more good than bad? I'm so confused. Now I'm worried that I really don't need the medicine. I just want to feel better.
