There are a lot of people out there who are not assertive -- but that doesn't stop them from becoming violent if their hormones get out of whack.
Assertiveness is something that therapy can work on, but drugs really aren't going to fix it.

It's more that something's right with you: you have found that there's something about yourself that you'd like to improve, and you're taking steps to do it. No shame in that, right?
Personally, I think it's shameful when there's something about me that I would like to improve, and *don't* do anything about it!
