I was once on a 'date' with a guy who was having a really extreme mania that was bordering on psychosis. He was really scaring me. fortunately we were seeing a movie at home, and my little brother called his parents. they took him to the ER right away. apparently he had called me for the 'date' right after he had threatened to kill his mom with a kitchen knife. He called me from the park, said he was on a walk, would I like to come pick him up, and watch a movie together?
I haven't seen him since. I think his parents had to send him to live in a group home. He's in bad shape. poor guy. Anyways, it's because of a traumatic head injury. not that he was that balanced to start off with, but having one's brains jostled can do bad things.
