Re: Nardil Enigma

Emsam was just intolerable to me. I would get application site reactions from each patch. Red, itchy, swollen blotches. I couldn't stand them.. I'd itch over the patch as well, which didn't do the adhesive much justice. Nothing really helped them (asked 3 doctors, and Bristol-Myers).

I take k-pin as well, but only to get me sleep and when I get super-irritable or have racing thoughts, which happens rarely.

I have Lunesta as well, but it seemed to lose it's effect, highest dose too.

I can't deal with the sweating. There's gotta be some drug that helps with this. Most docs don't even know about this side-effect. 2-4 meds cause this to happen. Just the slighest exersion, and I overheat, sweating like crazy. I can't get *anything* done outside, and most stuff inside. I require AC and fans all the time.

I used to be able to tolerate the hottest of hot, humidity too, just a year ago, before these meds. I feel like an invalid.

My ins company denied me Provigil because they didn't think I needed it. Funny how they think they know more than my doctor. I had it a year ago, but not sure what dose, and it didn't help. I was trying to get a higher dose to start with, but now I have to get a letter from my doctor, and from me, and "contest" their decision. What a waste of time if I get denied again. I just need some god damn samples. My ins comp. denied me because I don't have narcolepsy. They should know better than anyone that the same meds are prescribed for many similar and different disorders.

Bah. I'm getting mad again..

Signing off..

And my pdoc has agreed to Provigil for me. It takes away the late afternoon naps I used to crave all the time. And I've had no ill effects from combining the two (along with Lamictal for any residual depression) except if I get too much caffeine.

I think because it is not supposed to have the peripheral sympathomemetic effects. Like on the heart, blood pressure, ect. Just stays in the brain supposedly. I find the provigil to be a good antidepressant augmenter, I can definately tell the difference without it. I can still take my naps if I want to but I have a choice about it. Also, the lamictal is being helfpful. I also take klonopin, all together a combo that is working pretty well for me. Way better than the million other combos I have tried.
