Can I have Wellbutrin + Concerta for ADD

Posted by Susana M on July 23, 2006, at 20:31:25

Hi I'm diagnosed with ADHD some time ago, The Dr.Started me on Concerta which didn' work, she then decided to try Effexor and it was wonderfull I was taking 325 mg and felt great for a year until I notced my weight going up( 15-20lbs)so I decided to loose the weight with Atkins ( it really works for me and a lot of exercize) I thought I was doing great since I was on ketosis ( proven by keto-sticks which would turn purple) Then after 4 weeks and not even 1 lb less, I knew I had a problem. That's when I found out about the slowing of the metabolism ,etc..
I went to pdr, and she decided to change me to Wellbutrin ( nothing has happened yet although is only been a week)
My question is can I add Concerta to my treatment?? and yes ..it has to do with the fact that I want a temporary push! I've also considered quitting all my meds if in 2 month nothing happens, since I survived 40 years withougt meds.even though I believe I'm so much happier/organized/relax and stable with Effexor, but I'm starting to feel really bad about my weight to the point of getting really sad( not depresion per-se )
Thanks for the help..Susana M
