I would concur that more time needs to be given for an SSRI to work for anxiety; and it doesn't necessarily need to be at a high dose -- some people have reported success at very low doses, but that depends on the individual. Usually studies of all SSRIs are based on 12 week segments, although it can be argued that some relief can come in the first weeks. If it is truly giving you nothing but grief, which something like paxil or luvox, the most sedating, doesn't usually do, then you might try lexapro or another similar SSRI.
