In Dr. Bob's "tips' (written long before Emsam) some of the doctors say they get good results for depression on 40-60 mg day of oral selegiline. The largest "patch" 12mg/24 h is supposedly equivalent to 40 mg oral, but the side effects on the smallest patch are bad enough that I wonder how many people could tolerate 40-60 mg. This stuff builds up insidiously in your system, in my experience, when you start it the side effects seem minimal, but they gradually get worse and worse. I don't know, maybe I lack an enzyme for processing MAO's or something. I wish drug companies and the FDA paid more attention to science and less to marketing and politics.
