> Tygereyes that is one of the most compassionated posts I've ever received. I know how much you are going through and yet you took the time to do this for me. And your babblelight isn't on. So a more personal response is not possible unless you babble me and send you email and I can E-mail you directly. You are sweet and unselfish in all ways. I love you. Love Phillipaxx
what is babblemail & how do you use it?
and you're welcome but there is really no need to thank me ... I know it's confusing sometimes to read all of the posts here and trying to find a med that works - after all, most of us come here because the meds are NOT working and we are so-called "complicated cases" so it doesn't always give you a perspective of what will work for an individual.
from reading posts here, you'd think that SSRIs work on 10% of the people who take them, when most people I know in "real life" have responded very well to the first or second or third SSRI they tried and have never needed to navigate the terrain of tricyclics or MAOIs. (lucky them!!)
I always try to read the studies to balance it out. Google Scholar is very good for this - but sometimes you can only get abstracts, which isn't where the best data is - you have to really examine the methods and results, because sometimes the researchers will stretch the conclusions to prove their hypotheses.
Have you ever been on a MAOI before? If not, what has prevented you from trying one?
