I think a key point is it CAN but does not always cause those depressive symptoms in folks. Some folks who have been pracically life paralyzed by anxiety symptoms find it can have the opposite effect and open up the world to them.

Caution is needed, of course, in particular if one is planning it as a longer term treatment. It is a CNS depressant and depression certainly can develop - sometimes as a new finding and sometimes as a worsening the disorder that's already there.

I am sorry it caused those symptoms in you.
