From what I've heard anecdotally somnolence is not an uncommon reaction during the weeks following initation of Depakote therapy and/or dose increases. How long have you been on the Depakote? If it's just a little while you might want to hang in there and see if this gets better.

Another thing that I've read somewhere (again, anecdotal) that Depakote might increase your total sleep requirement. I think someone said it was good for about 15-30 extra minutes a night. So if you're getting benefits from the Depakote, you might want to try increasing your sleep time for a while...
