I don't know why I didn't think of starting an independent thread about educating doctors, but thank you for thinking of it. I have been cutting and pasting comments about all the side effects and I'm taking it to my doctor next week. Doctors can't know everything. They aren't computers. So the more information we provide them with, the better they can help us.
The major problem is that some of them are so arrogant in their [imagined] supremacy, they don't think we can teach them anything. The minor problem is that they are so busy, they don't have the time to take the extended classes to keep them up-to-date with every new medical breakthrough.
Doctors, it appears, are reading old information on Effexor. You know the literature that's given out with the release of a new drug. I was on Strattera and it's so new there's almost no information out there about it. My doctor couldn't help me figure out how to dose it properly for me. Had to figure it out myself.
So, fellow patients, arise! Unite in our efforts to educate our doctors!!! And have a nice day.
