I could help anwer your questions, but I think maybe Ed, kat, or Rainy may be better at it than I am. I hope they will respond to your post. Don't worry, I take topomax for Bipolar disorder, and it is working very well for me. It helps stabilize my moods, and keeps me out of depression. I take it along with Zoloft. My daughter is also Bipolar, and she takes it as well. We are doing just fine with it,and I think you will also. Are you starting out at a low dose? I started out at 25mg, and kept it there for around two weeks. Go up slowely, because if you don't, you will get some negative side effects. My daughter did feel as if she may pass out at a cheer competition, but that lasted about one week. This medication has been a blessing for me, and I wish I had known about it years before now. Some people take it with another mood stabilizer, but it is doing fine on it's own in my case. Keep checking back to the board for posts to your question. Let us know if we can help you. Please don't let this get you into a panic, it will be fine. You just may find out that you have found something that will make your life smooth and easy. -L
