Its good in some ways that they're being honest, but it also scares me.
When my TV breaks down, somtimes if I kick it in the side pannel it works better (for a while). Would I trade this approach for a qualitfied and knowledgable technition who was able to open it up and replace the bad circut? No.
"Trial and error" docs are good in that you can try a whole bunch of stuff that may help, but my last trial and error doc had me on a combination of junk that was a bad trip from the get go. In other words, know your stuff if you decide to see them.
