3 and a half weeks on parnate and I'm feeling good. Virtually no negative side-effects for the first three weeks. The only thing I really noticed in that time was being less tired in the morning, which was a good start since I began to actually get up in the moring, although my mood didnt seem any better.
At 3 1/2 weeks I'm feeling good. I feel motivated. I actually feel like there is things worth doing each day. I feel much less likely to get discouraged about things I want or need to do.
These past 3 days have been a little strange however. I've slept only 3 hours the past 3 nights, and all of that was on monday night.
I've also had a pretty constant headache. It doesn't help with trying to get to sleep.
I started exercising for the first time in a long when this started, as well as eating very differently. I'm wondering if these things are making the parnate insomia worse??? (maybe just increased metabolism from the exercise, or maybe its the whey protein (tyramine content?), or perhaps the chromium I'm supplementing). I got my blood pressure checked yeserday, and it was ok at the time.
Anyway, I'm worried about not getting any sleep. What's my best option here? What works best for other people? Trazodone- how safe is that taking with a MAOI? I've tried trazodone before, and it left me with a brutal headache. Wouldn't that be worse in combo with the parnate? Melatonin - seems its not recommended for ppl with mood disorders?? Klonopin - will that leave me tired the next morning, or feeling down again? But then, maybe it will help with social anxiety? Ambien - don't know much about this. Is it true it shouldn't be taken for more than a few weeks?
Sorry for the long post, but thats where I'm at, and any thoughts on the insomnia/headache problem would be great. Thanks,
T
