It has a lot of side effects and you have to get your levels tested. I would try Trileptal first ... tegretol's cousin. There are hardly any side effects and you don't have to get your levels checked and it's not contraindicated with any meds.
Another thing you should try is 300 mg of Niacin (Vitamin B3)divided into 3 100 mg dose. It's very calming. Make sure you take a B complex vitamin since they need each other to work well.
