Hi.
Effexor is a very potent serotonin reuptake inhibitor. I would recommend caution when combining it with moclobemide, despite the reversibility of MAO activity allowed for by moclobemide. I'm sure you are aware of the of risk of developing serotonin syndrome (SS) when combining SRI antidepressants and MAOIs. I feel that there are enough reports on Medline of adverse reactions when moclobemide is combined with a SRI to warrant a careful titration of medication and an understanding of what symptoms to look for that would be indicative of SS. You might want to keep some cyproheptadine at hand in case the syndrome emerges. These are things best discussed with your doctor.
