does anyone here take benadryl for anxiety?

anyone use dipenhdrymine (sp?) for anxiety? i don't want to encourage self-medication, but as some seem to be helped by it for Benzo induced mania i was wondering if anyone had any medical info on its use for things other than insomnia or allergies.
