bill-- lunesta sounds wonderful! ambien put me to sleep for two years before pooping out recently. since i've stopped taking it every night, it works better when i do take it. but ambien has always worn off during the middle of the night and has often caused me to be wide awake at 4am or so. anything that puts me to sleep and keeps me sleeping would be great, especially if it's non-addictive. will lunesta be categorized as a controlled substance?
my problem is that my pdoc is not a drug specialist, so she is often not up to date with the latest trends and meds. for my last two pdocs, both psychoanalysts, i've had to make suggestions and have been the guinea pig since they were prescribing these drugs for the first time.
about the cost-- will lunesta be ridiculously expensive? my insurance has three tiers of meds-- generic, preferred brand name, and non-preferred brand name. the copays for non-preffered are much higher. they are sort of slow to update their categories, so lunesta will probably be non-preferred until at least 2006. any idea how much it costs? who is the manufacturer? eli lilly seems to be one of the worst as far as charging an arm and a leg, but all the companies are pretty bad. thanks!
