Here's some direct experience. I was taking clomipramine (generic Anafranil) at 150mg twice per day (i.e. total daily does = 300mg) for several months. I'm currently transitioning off this and on to Cymbalta, precisely because the side effects were overwhelming. For me the s.e.'s included: Heart/cardio (>100 bpm pulse), constipation, shaky hands, **very** dry mouth, urinary hesitation, word slurring/finding (cognitive impairment), exercise (in)tolerance, dizzy when stand up, heartburn, slow weight gain.

I must say though, that clomipramine *did* work well on my core depression/anxiety. I also suffer from frequent headaches, but got no relief from clomipramine in that department.
