You can find out the half life by doing an internet search on Provigil OR modafinil and "half-life". The shorter the half life, the faster it leaves your system. It's generally good for a drug to have a long half life so that you only have to take it once a day.
I have never tried Provigil, but I know from reading that it is a very effective drug to keep people awake. Doc's like it because the side effects are usually minimal.
Although some people may report increased depression, I think that it's a rare side effect.
> My pdoc recently rx provigil for my cognitive problems that are due to being on mood stabilizers. I have been on it for almost a week and it has been amazing how much better I feel. I was depressed and it helped the depression, I think clearer, I am motivated to do things, like clean house, etc that I didn't want to do when I was feeling bad and I am not taking naps and sleeping 12+ hours a day. I just feel more "put together". I have researched it some and seen there have been studies done for ppl with adhd and depression and had good results (i have adhd as well). Here I have read ppl having a problem with depression while on provigil.
