In reply to How is Strattera working for everyone?, posted by mmcconathy on October 16, 2004, at 21:37:18
I am not taking Strattera but I take the europian version of it. I mean I take another Norepinephrine (noradrenaline) reuptake inhibitor called Reboxetine. I have noticed significant improvements on it on interest, initiative, concentration, energy and motivation.
I been on it for about a week now, but I been taking 2.5-5mg/day Selegeline for about two months. Selegiline (which is dopaminergic) alone did almost nothing but it might be the combination of the two that makes the trick.
I also must say that I only take 1/4 the therapautic dose of Reboxetine, just 2mg. When I been couple of months ago on the full dose I noticed nothing. It might be that low doses can help better ?!! Sounds strange but in fact there have been no studies on the minimal therapautic dos eof it at all.
Try to take less Strattera and see what happens. BTW, taking Strattera which its direct effect is on Noradrenaline does not mean that in the long term it wont affect the dopamine system. It could and would, some studies indicate that for the Reboxetine.
For me Wellbutrin induced some generalized anxiety that I never had before. It made me very emotional and I had episodes of crying for no reason at all !!!!!
